Donating Appreciated Assets to TLS
In addition to receiving cash donations, The Labyrinth Society welcomes other types of donations.
Capital Equipment:
At the moment we would like to acquire a quiet, high-lumen, portable LCD projector for PowerPoint presentations at Gathering and board use at their meetings. We estimate a four-year recovery of investment by elimination of annual rental expense. A gift in kind or donation of cash-to-purchase would be equally appreciated. Airline Frequent Traveler Miles:
Contributions of airline miles are always welcome as travel to board meetings becomes increasingly burdensome. Help with defraying those costs enables allocation of a larger percentage of income to program. If you would like to donate miles, please email the Executive Director or complete/mail the donation form.
Donations of Appreciated Securities:
Gifting of appreciated securities (stock/mutual fund shares or bonds) can offer attractive tax and estate planning advantages. The Labyrinth Society is positioned to accept such gifts via our Investment Services account. Assets so received are immediately converted to cash and reinvested in conservative FDIC insured fixed-value instruments (CDs or high-yield money market funds) in order to assure safe preservation of capital. Oversight is maintained by our highly qualified Finance Committee. For more information about donations of securities, please email the Executive Director or complete/mail the donation form. Be sure to give yourself enough time at the end of the year for the transfer to take place.
